Portraits

Over the last couple of months I have started a portrait project:

Photographing lifelong friends

The idea for this started some years ago during my father’s final days in hospital. He seemed to be always covered up in hospital sheets or blankets with only his head and hands showing. His hands particularly showed their age and bruising (from the catheters). They were as expressive as his face.

Natural expressiveness can be difficult to come by unless you really are completely comfortable in someones company. This is my attempt at potraits, of my lifelong friends, and possibly revealing a side to them that not everyone gets to see.
